About

I am a third year PhD student in the Faculty of Divinity at University of Cambridge. I am working on Avicenna’s Philosophy of Mathematics under supervision of Prof. Tony Street.

Before coming to Cambridge, I did another PhD in the Department of Philosophy at Tarbiat Modares University (TMU), Tehran, Iran. My PhD dissertation was on Empty Singular Thoughts and my supervisors were Dr. S. N. Mousavian and Dr. S. M. A. Hodjati. When I was working on my first PhD, I visited LOGOS: Research Group in Analytic University, Barcelona, Spain for six months from Octorber 2014 to April 2015. I completed my MA at TMU by writing a dissertation on Molinism’s Approach to the Problem of Incompatibility of God’s Foreknowledge and Human Free Will under supervision of Prof. M. Saeedimehr. I have also a background in pure mathematics. I was a BSc student in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Sharif University of Technology (SUT), Tehran, Iran. My BSc thesis was on Foundations of Arithmetic According to Avicenna and Kant which was written under supervision of Prof. M. Ardeshir. I was also a former member of SUT Logic Group.

As it may be understood from my background, I am interested in philosophy of language, philosophy of religion and philosophy of mathematics from the perspectives of both contemporary analytic philosophy and medieval Islamicate philosophy.
